They say that bad weather can get people's moods down. Amelia? Not one bit.
"Ehehehh...hey Lex? Do you know where we packed Hendowski's girth?" Amelia asked me sheepishly. I walked
up to the luggage, and without any effort, lifted it up, revealing the girth hiding from underneath. "Wow, Lex!
You are so good at keeping track of where everything goes!" Her face instantly lit up, and she stood up and
hugged (well, more like squeezed) me exitedly. "There there, you just left it there when you were getting the
saddle pad out."
Thankfully, Amelia usually drags me along with her to most of her competitions. Without me, I don't think she
would be able to properly tack up her horse. I swear, that much enthusiasm can really get her carried away.
Luckily this time, I just had to adjust her stirrups. By now, I have it all memorized! And as usual, Hendowski was
being stubborn throughout the whole tacking up process. Lea would definitely gain full control of him when they
went out to the arena. He may be a dominant male, but she can really maintain a strong grasp on him.
I watched in the cold as the two walked in just after the last contestant walked out of the arena. Hendowski held
his head up proudly as he trotted to his starting position, Amelia also with her head up straight, but focused,
glancing around at every jump. The signal went off, and so were they. Hendowksi smoothly cantered his way to
the first jump, executing it with ease. Landing, they both let out a big puff of white smoke, blowing away in just
a few seconds. On to their next jump; and the next, and the next, and the next. If Hendowski was giving her any
trouble at all, either she corrected it before I saw it, or he must have been having a good day.
